Radeberger Pilsner and Zwickelbier
The Radeberger brewery produces one of Germany’s most successful beers. In over 145 years of brewing, we have dedicated ourselves to ONE great passion: the unmistakable Radeberger Pilsner – with its golden hue and fine head. No non-alcoholic version. No mixed beer drinks. We rely on the carefully selected ingredients: Pilsner malt, aroma hops and bittering hops, soft water and the finest yeast. We concentrate all our brewing abilities on this one beer – generously brewed and rich in taste! Our beer lovers expect consistently high quality and the unmistakable taste they know from a Radeberger Pilsner. We rise to that challenge with pleasure every day. After all, reproducing quality is an art in itself!
Another beer just as unique as our Radeberger Pilsner is Zwickelbier, which can only be found in Dresden at the “Radeberger Spezialausschank”. At the Radeberger brewery, it is removed from the tanks immediately before filtration, the last step before bottling. It still contains suspended particles of yeast and protein. In the past, only the master brewer was allowed to draw this slightly cloudy beer from a special dispensing device called a “Zwickelhahn”; a testing tap. That “privilege” has since been relaxed – to the delight of all those who love this fresh, quaffable “Zwickel” beer! Only three exclusive places offer a chance to try some: here in Dresden in the “Radeberger Spezialausschank” on the world-famous Brühl’s Terrace or, alternatively, in the beer town of Radeberg itself, either on a brewery tour or by stopping off at the Radeberger brewery bar.
Back in 1872, the founders of the Radeberger brewery already set their aims high for their beer, aspiring always to make the best beer of its day. Soon, Radeberger Pilsner was being served throughout Germany, and also became one of the first German beers to score big abroad as an export beer. In 1905 it was conferred a warrant of appointment to His Majesty King Friedrich August III of Saxony! Today, production meets the state of the art. The aspiration set by the original founders for our unmistakable Radeberger Pilsner remains the same; it is a duty and an inspiration to this day.
